Dr. Julia Arnold - Region 4 Regional Sponsor of the Year

Our Region 4 recipient of the Regional Sponsor of the Year Award is Dr. Julia S. Arnold. Dr. Arnold has been teaching math at Tidewater Community College for 31 years, and has been her chapter's lead sponsor for 10 years. Dr. Arnold (who earned a black belt in Chutoku-Rye Karate alongside her grandson!) collects cartoons of math and Noah's Ark, and she and her husband of 44 years recently took the trip of a lifetime to Israel with her church. Her words of advice ring clear and true: "Use your gift of math knowledge and understanding to look for ways to serve others who think they cannot do math. Be creative and think outside the box. Look for ways to relate to differing learning styles and keep learning. The beauty of mathematics is before you. Learn all you can." Congratulations, Dr. Arnold!
